Costumes and Collections in the Context of Cultural Heritage
The International Symposium Costumes and Collections in the Context of Cultural Heritage. Sharing ARTS, CRAFTS and PRESERVATION, dedicated to the traditional costume as a mark of ethnocultural identity, will be organized by the ASTRA National Museum Complex, Sibiu, Romania, on September 25-29, 2023.

The stake of the 7th Edition of the The International Conference Emerging Technology and Innovation for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage - ETICCH 2023, which complements this cultural occasion, is to bring together professionals with expertise in the protection of tangible cultural heritage.
In 2023, we aim at offering specialists a prolific event focusing on complementary approaches for crafts and art in costume making, as well as on valuing, research, conservation-restoration, preservation and dissemination of heritage collections. A number of related satellite events will be organized in connection with the two main directions.
The ASTRA National Museum is the most important ethnomuseum institution in Romania. The largest open-air museum in Europe. Set in an enchanting landscape, in the protected forest area of "Dumbrava Sibiului", the Open air Museum surprises you at every step, at every moment, through the way in which nature and culture blend harmoniously in a true Romanian village. The 10 km of alleys will take you through peasant households, handicraft workshops, wooden churches, wayside shrines, sheepfolds, water and windmills, and the well-preserved original interiors will tell you about simple country life, teach you about old skills and how you can find new ways to reuse them for the future.
